I’ve always loved fashion. I wear a lot of Juicy Couture, True Religion and Seven jeans. It’s natural for girls to want designer labels but that’s not the most important thing, of course. [On her interest in fashion, Age 12]
STYLE BOOK: GAP, (PRODUCT) RED JOIN AIDS CAMPAIGNS
from Post Gazette , October 16, 2006
by LaMont Jones
Celebrities are using their fame and influence to help shine a spotlight on the AIDS pandemic in Africa, most recently Russell Simmons, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and former President Bill Clinton.
Now, GAP and (Product) Red have teamed up for a line of apparel to benefit the cause. The red items, which range in price from $28 to $350, include a T-shirt, tank top, leather jacket, denim jacket, parka and hoodie.
Ads feature eight celebrity models, from Penelope Cruz, Christy Turlington, Dakota Fanning and Mary J. Blige to Don Cheadle, Steven Spielberg, Chris Rock and Apolo Ohno.
Half the profits will go directly to a global fund to invest in African AIDS programs. The campaign is also helping to create business opportunities in Africa, as part of the collection is being made on the continent.
BE THE BELLE OF THE BALL
from SGVTribune, March 8, 2006
by Ivy Da
Actress Dakota Fanning may be the most poised 11-year-old on the planet, but we heard that she squealed like the little girl she is when she first walked into the Belle of the Ball showroom in La Cañada Flintridge.
Dakota, who has starred in films including "War of the Worlds," "I Am Sam," and "Man on Fire," has worn a Belle of the Ball dress for each of the movie premieres.
She loves the girly yet sumptuous designs that are made to scale for little girls, whether they are headed to film premieres or strolls down the wedding aisle as flower girls.
"I always love wearing Audrey's Belle of the Balle dresses," Dakota said. "They make me feel like a princess."
And that's the point.
Audrey Pittokopitis makes dresses fit for princesses with ruffled pantaloons and capes; some look like tulips, and others resemble elegant medieval gowns.
"We're dressing little girls in their dreams," Pittokopitis said.

60 SECONDS: DAKOTA FANNING
from Metro, February 9, 2007
by Andrew Williams
You become a teenager in a fortnight. Are you going to turn into a tearaway?
Well, I hope I don’t hate myself. I don’t think I will. Everyone has to grow up at some point. I don’t wish to be older, I just want to enjoy the age that I am. But, of course, I’m looking forward to getting older. I might as well – I can’t stop it.
Are you interested in fashion?
I’ve always loved fashion. I wear a lot of Juicy Couture, True Religion and Seven jeans. It’s natural for girls to want designer labels but that’s not the most important thing, of course.
